Hilb Group, a Richmond, Virginia-based insurance brokerage and advisory firm that is a portfolio company of The Carlyle Group, said the deal adds to its regional offerings as part of an ongoing acquisition strategy.

The Hilb Group, LLC (THG), a Richmond-based middle-market insurance brokerage and portfolio company of The Carlyle Group, acquired Marshfield, Massachusetts-based LifePlus Insurance Agency, Inc., effective March 1, 2020. LifePlus — a full-service ancillary benefits agency serving municipalities with group life, worksite, dental and workers' compensation products — will continue operating from its Marshfield office under agency leader Peter A. Cook, Jr. as part of THG's New England employee benefits platform.
