Hidden Harbor Capital Partners has acquired R.L. James Inc., a Fort Myers-based provider of exterior restoration and remediation services, in a transaction that closed December 15, 2023. The investment positions Hidden Harbor to scale RL James' operations across Southwest and Central Florida while providing an ownership transition for founder Bob James.

James, a portfolio company of Hidden Harbor Capital Partners, has acquired Commercial Plastering USA, LLC, a Bradenton, Florida-based provider of plastering, exterior finishes, and drywall services. The add-on expands RL James' service capabilities and geographic footprint into Southwest Florida; founder William (“Billy”) Rice will remain with the business. Financing was provided by First Eagle Alternative Credit.

James, a portfolio company of Hidden Harbor Capital Partners, has acquired Blanchard Caulking & Coating, LLC, a Jacksonville-based provider of caulking, waterproofing, painting and exterior restoration services. The deal expands RL James' geographic footprint into Northeast Florida and broadens its service capabilities across the region; Jeremy Blanchard will remain with the business. Financing for the transaction was provided by First Eagle Alternative Credit.

American Industrial Partners Acquires PPG's U.S. & Canadian Architectural Coatings Business (Pittsburgh Paints Co.)

American Industrial Partners (AIP) completed the acquisition of PPG's U.S. and Canadian architectural coatings business for $550 million and has renamed the business The Pittsburgh Paints Company. The newly independent company — a top-three producer of interior and exterior paints, stains, caulks, adhesives and sealants with more than 6,000 employees and 750 company-owned stores — will operate as a focused platform serving professional and DIY end markets across the U.S. and Canada.

Paramount Pallet Acquires Industrie de Palettes Standard (I.P.S.) Inc.

Paramount Pallet, a 48forty Solutions company, has acquired Industrie de Palettes Standard (I.P.S.) Inc., a pallet recycling and repair business headquartered in Laval, Quebec. The deal — Paramount's first acquisition — expands its footprint in Quebec and enhances its pallet repair, remanufacturing and logistics capabilities; terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition expands PSE's specialty coatings capabilities and adds a regional presence in the heavy marine and industrial coatings end-markets.
