Microsoft Acquires Lumenisity

Microsoft has acquired Lumenisity, a U.K. pioneer in hollow-core optical fiber (NANF) technology, following Lumenisity's completion of a new hollow-core fiber manufacturing facility in the United Kingdom. The acquisition is intended to accelerate Microsoft's efforts to reduce latency and increase data throughput across its cloud and distributed computing infrastructure, with potential applications across telecom, finance and healthcare.
