Optibrium, a Cambridge-based developer of software and AI solutions for small-molecule drug discovery, has acquired BioPharmics LLC to expand its 3D ligand- and structure-based drug design and visualisation capabilities. The acquisition brings BioPharmics' algorithms and products (including ForceGen, Surflex-Dock, eSim and QuanSA) and its founding scientists into Optibrium's StarDrop platform to strengthen 3D modelling, docking and binding-affinity prediction functionality.

Quanterix Corporation Acquires Akoya Biosciences

Quanterix Corporation has completed its acquisition of Akoya Biosciences, combining Quanterix's ultra‑sensitive blood biomarker detection platform with Akoya's spatial biology imaging and reagents. Under the amended merger agreement, Quanterix issued approximately 7.8 million shares and paid about $20 million in cash to Akoya equity holders; the combined business is expected to expand the company's served addressable market and accelerate the path to profitability.

Bionano Genomics Acquires BioDiscovery

Bionano Genomics agreed to acquire BioDiscovery, a provider of NxClinical genomics analysis software, in a deal worth up to $100 million in cash and equity. The acquisition will integrate BioDiscovery's platform-agnostic analysis and reporting tools with Bionano's optical genome mapping technology to accelerate variant analysis and broaden Bionano's market reach; BioDiscovery founder Soheil Shams will join Bionano as Chief Informatics Officer.

Kiromic Biopharma Acquires InSilico Solutions

The acquisition expands BioIVT's supply network, inventory and capacity for CSF and liquid biopsy products while PrecisionMed will continue to operate from its existing headquarters and collection sites.

Sherlock Biosciences Acquires Sense Biodetection

Terms were not disclosed; Sense is headquartered in Oxford, United Kingdom with additional facilities in Cambridge (UK) and Milford, Massachusetts.
