B&G Foods Acquires Frozen Vegetable Manufacturing Operations of Growers Express

B&G Foods, Inc. acquired the frozen vegetable manufacturing operations of Growers Express, LLC, including inventory, equipment, a sublease for part of a Yuma, Arizona manufacturing facility and a lease for a warehouse in San Luis, Arizona. Approximately 155 employees will transfer to B&G Foods; the company also repurchased the master license agreement for certain Green Giant Fresh products. The transaction was funded with cash on hand and borrowings under B&G's existing credit facility; terms were not disclosed.

B&G Foods Sells Don Pepino and Sclafani Brands to Violet Foods (Amphora Equity Partners)

B&G Foods has sold its Don Pepino and Sclafani brands, along with the Williamstown, New Jersey manufacturing facility, to Violet Foods LLC, a newly formed portfolio company of Amphora Equity Partners. Terms were not disclosed; B&G said it will use net proceeds to reduce long-term debt while Amphora aims to support future growth of the acquired brands.

Rastelli Foods Group Acquires Greensbury Market

Rastelli Foods Group has acquired New York–based Greensbury Market, a direct-to-consumer retailer of organic, grass‑fed beef, bison, poultry, pork and sustainable seafood. Greensbury’s premium product portfolio will be sold exclusively through Rastelli’s DTC site Rastellis.com, expanding Rastelli’s online offerings and convenience for consumers nationwide.

Mrs. Gerry's Kitchen (Sequel Holdings) Acquires Garden-Fresh Foods

Mrs. Gerry's Kitchen, a portfolio company of Sequel Holdings, has acquired Garden-Fresh Foods. Alantra acted as exclusive financial advisor to Garden-Fresh; the family owners (Tom and Vicki Hughes and their sons) and CEO John Colapinto will remain involved after the sale, and the deal brings together two prepared-salad manufacturers to expand scale and capabilities in refrigerated ready-to-eat foods.

GrowGeneration Corp. Acquires HGS Hydro

GrowGeneration Corp. signed an asset purchase agreement to acquire HGS Hydro, the third-largest chain of hydroponic garden centers in the U.S., adding six existing Michigan stores (with a seventh opening soon). The acquisition will increase GrowGeneration's Michigan footprint and bring its total store count to 65, and is expected to close before GrowGeneration's fiscal year-end 2021.

Hain Celestial Completes Sale of North American Snacks Business to Snackruptors Inc
