UnitedHealth Group Proposed Acquisition of Change Healthcare (DOJ Challenge)
October 1, 2021
UnitedHealth Group is proposing to acquire Change Healthcare, a deal that drew opposition from American Pharmacy Cooperative (APCI) in a letter to the U.S. Department of Justice. APCI argued the acquisition would harm competition and could lead to higher prescription drug prices and worse patient outcomes, citing increased prescription steering and data/privacy concerns related to Optum.
