Cemvita Factory acquired Denver-based Solfatara Laboratories to accelerate development and scale-up of its biomining capabilities, including Solfatara’s scale-up facility in Golden, Colorado. Solfatara’s founder Tom Clark joins Cemvita as Head of Biohydrometallurgy to support bioleaching, bio-oxidation and acid mine drainage monitoring work as Cemvita prepares for commercial field deployment of biomining technologies.

Draslovka a.s. completed the acquisition of The Chemours Company’s Mining Solutions business for $521 million, making Draslovka the world’s largest producer of solid sodium cyanide and expanding its global operations across Europe, the Americas and Australasia. Funds advised by Triton have acquired Fertiberia Group S.A., a leading Spanish producer of fertilizers and industrial chemical products, from Grupo Villar Mir. The agreement was signed in August 2019 and the acquisition was completed in February 2020; financial terms were not disclosed. Fertiberia operates roughly 14 production and blending sites and about 1,400 employees across the Iberian Peninsula and Europe.
