Velocity One (Charlesbank) Acquires EMCORE to Form Aerospace & Defense Platform

Velocity One, a newly formed aerospace manufacturing holding company backed by Charlesbank Capital Partners, signed a merger agreement to acquire EMCORE Corporation. EMCORE will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Velocity One, completing Charlesbank’s platform buildout alongside Cartridge Actuated Devices (CAD) and Aerosphere Power. The acquisition closed on March 5, 2025.

VelocityEHS Acquires Kinetica Labs

VelocityEHS, the Chicago-based provider of cloud EHS and sustainability software, has acquired Ann Arbor-based Kinetica Labs, a developer of sensorless motion-capture and computer vision technology for workplace ergonomics. The acquisition brings Kinetica's AI and machine-learning capabilities into VelocityEHS's Industrial Ergonomics solution to accelerate product innovation and automated MSD risk assessments.

Crane Company Acquires Vian Enterprises, Inc.

Crane Company has acquired Vian Enterprises, Inc. for approximately $103 million on a cash-free, debt-free basis. Vian, a designer and manufacturer of multi-stage lubrication pumps and lubrication system components for aerospace and defense, reported trailing 12-month sales of about $33 million and adjusted EBITDA of approximately $8 million; Crane said the acquisition expands its Aerospace & Electronics fluid solution capabilities and is expected to be immediately accretive to segment margins.

Karman Space & Defense Acquires Five Axis Industries

Karman Space & Defense (NYSE: KRMN) acquired Five Axis Industries, an Arlington, Washington-based supplier of advanced nozzle and fuel system subsystems, for $83 million in cash plus approximately $5 million in Karman shares (about $88 million total). The acquisition, which closed October 28, 2025, expands Karman's propulsion and launch-system capabilities by adding proprietary nozzle, spun-form and 3D-printed Inconel technologies and was funded in part by an increase to Karman's Term Loan B.

Bombardier Acquires Velocity Maintenance Solutions

Bombardier acquired Velocity Maintenance Solutions, a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and aircraft-on-ground services provider, to expand its U.S. services footprint. The deal was completed through Bombardier’s U.S. subsidiary, Learjet Inc., with financial terms not disclosed.

cleanwater1 (formerly UGSI Solutions), a Baird Capital portfolio company, has acquired Velocity Dynamics, LLC, a provider of proprietary dry and liquid feed systems for chemistry optimization in water/wastewater utilities and industrial plants. The deal expands cleanwater1’s product and engineering capabilities in polymer blending, chemical feed and bulk handling to support customers facing higher chemical costs and stricter environmental requirements.
