Vermilion Energy Inc. completed the acquisition of Leucrotta Exploration Inc. pursuant to an arrangement agreement, acquiring all outstanding Leucrotta shares and taking a material ownership position in Coelacanth Energy Inc. The transaction secures the Mica property — ~81,000 gross Montney acres (77,000 net) — adding a multi-decade drilling inventory to Vermilion's North American portfolio and is intended to high‑grade the company's assets and maximize future free cash flow.

Spartan Delta Corp. closed the previously announced acquisition of Velvet Energy Ltd., a privately held light-oil Montney producer in northwest Alberta, for approximately CAD 751.5 million in cash, shares and assumed net debt. The deal (funded via equity financing, a new five-year term facility and revolver capacity) adds ~20,600 boe/d of production and large Montney acreage, positioning Spartan as a leading Montney oil producer and acreage holder.

Lion Electric completed a business combination with special purpose acquisition company Northern Genesis Acquisition Corp., resulting in approximately US$490 million of net proceeds (including a concurrent PIPE). As a result of the transaction Lion began trading on the NYSE and TSX under the ticker LEV; the proceeds will be used to finance U.S. manufacturing expansion, develop battery systems and repay outstanding debt. Lion's founder and CEO Marc Bédard will continue to lead the company, and Northern Genesis directors Ian Robertson and Chris Jarratt joined the board.

Vital Energy Acquires Assets of Driftwood Energy Operating, LLC

(NYSE: VTLE) signed a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of Driftwood Energy Operating, LLC, comprising leasehold interests, production and hedges, in exchange for 1,578,948 shares of Vital common stock and $127.6 million in cash. The asset package (effective Jan. 1, 2023) includes ~16,500 gross acres (11,200 net) in Upton and Reagan counties of the Midland Basin, ~5,400 BOE/day production, and an estimated 30 gross operated horizontal locations.
