Watco to Acquire Great Lakes Central Railroad (GLC)

Watco Railroad Company Holdings, Inc. has announced an agreement to acquire ownership of the Great Lakes Central Railroad (GLC), the largest Class III regional railroad in Michigan, with roughly 420 miles of track. The Surface Transportation Board approved the acquisition, which will be effective September 28, subject to a condition requiring Watco to keep active GLC and Ann Arbor gateways open on commercially competitive terms.
