Macquarie AirFinance Acquires $2.2B Aircraft Portfolio from ALAFCO

Macquarie AirFinance, with backing and equity from Macquarie Asset Management, PGGM Infrastructure Fund and Australian Retirement Trust (ART), will acquire a $US2.2 billion aircraft portfolio from ALAFCO Aviation Lease and Finance Company K.S.C.P. The deal — supported by a $US1.65 billion acquisition facility underwritten by BNP Paribas, Citibank, MUFG Bank and Natixis — will expand and modernize Macquarie AirFinance's fleet and improve its emissions profile; ALAFCO shareholders approved the transaction and completion was expected in 2023.

Macquarie-led Consortium Acquires 88% Stake in AirTrunk

A consortium led by Macquarie Asia Infrastructure Fund 2 (MAIF2), managed by Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), has closed financial close to acquire an 88% stake in AirTrunk, valuing the company at more than A$3 billion. The stake was purchased from Goldman Sachs, Sixth Street Partners and founder Robin Khuda, who will retain a material stake and remain CEO; the investment will accelerate AirTrunk's planned expansion across the Asia-Pacific.

Macquarie Asset Management to Acquire 90% Stake in Apex Energies Group

Macquarie Asset Management, via its Macquarie Green Investment Group Renewable Energy Fund 2, has entered exclusive negotiations to acquire a 90% equity interest in French solar developer and operator Apex Energies Group from a consortium of investors. Apex, which develops, builds and operates rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects across France and also provides energy-efficiency and monitoring services through subsidiaries ORA and S4E, will support Macquarie’s expansion of its renewable energy platform in France.

Blackstone-led Consortium to Acquire AirTrunk for A$24 Billion

A consortium led and managed by Blackstone, together with the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, agreed to acquire AirTrunk from Macquarie Asset Management and the Public Sector Pension Investment Board for an implied enterprise value of over A$24 billion. AirTrunk Founder and CEO Robin Khuda will remain as CEO while realising part of his stake; the deal is positioned to accelerate AirTrunk's growth across Asia Pacific to meet rising demand from cloud and AI customers.

Macquarie Asset Management Acquires Stakes in Bristol and Birmingham Airports

The stakes were purchased from Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan as part of Macquarie's broader UK airports portfolio expansion.

Warburg Pincus and Macquarie Capital Principal Finance Acquire Majority Stake in Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG)

Warburg Pincus has entered an agreement with Macquarie Capital Principal Finance to jointly acquire a majority stake in Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG), a UK leader in building compliance services. The investment will support PTSG's next phase of growth and its consolidation strategy across the UK's compliance services market; financial terms were not disclosed and the transaction remains subject to antitrust approval.
