Safra New York Corporation Acquires Delta North Bankcorp and Delta National Bank and Trust

Safra New York Corporation, parent of Safra National Bank of New York and part of the J. Safra Group, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Delta North Bankcorp and its subsidiary Delta National Bank and Trust. The acquisition expands Safra's private banking and wealth management footprint in the United States and Latin America; the deal is expected to close in H1 2023 subject to regulatory approval and financial terms were not disclosed.

(NASDAQ: FMBH) agreed to acquire Delta Bancshares Company, the parent of Jefferson Bank and Trust, in a transaction valued at approximately $106.3 million in aggregate consideration (cash and stock). In a separate agreement, First Mid also agreed to acquire approximately $225 million in loans and $280 million in deposits plus the relationship team from a separate St. Louis-area financial institution, expanding First Mid's presence in the St. Louis market.

The deal expands First Bank's presence in South Carolina by adding GrandSouth's eight branches and is expected to accelerate First Bancorp's South Carolina growth, creating a combined company with approximately $12 billion in assets and 118 branches.
