Majestic Steel USA, a privately held steel distributor and processor based in Cleveland, acquired the business assets of Merit Steel USA (legally Merit Ends and Viking Processing Corporation), a West Coast steel service center headquartered in Pittsburg, California, with additional locations in Fontana, CA and Longview, WA. The acquisition expands Majestic's footprint in the Western United States and strengthens its ability to serve customers amid ongoing supply-chain constraints.

Nippon Steel Acquires U. S. Steel

Nippon Steel Corporation, together with its wholly owned subsidiary Nippon Steel North America, completed the all-cash acquisition of United States Steel Corporation for $55 per share (approximately $14.1bn equity; $14.9bn enterprise value). The transaction preserves U. S. Steel's headquarters and name in Pittsburgh, includes a national security agreement (golden share) with the U.S. government, and commits roughly $11bn of new investment in U. S. Steel through 2028.
