Founded in 1943, HMS — with more than 120 employees — provides property/casualty, surety, group captive and employee benefits services and will continue operating from its Hunt Valley office as part of MMA.

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) has acquired CS Insurance Strategies, a Chicago-based, minority-owned insurance brokerage founded in 2009 by Charles Smith. The acquisition (terms undisclosed) brings CS Insurance Strategies' ten employees into MMA and strengthens MMA's capabilities and presence in the Midwest, particularly in employee benefits, business insurance and risk management for municipal, non-profit and minority-owned clients.

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), a subsidiary of Marsh, has acquired Clark Insurance, a full-service independent insurance agency headquartered in Portland, Maine; the transaction also includes Haberman Insurance, which Clark acquired in 2021. The deal brings all 135 Clark employees (plus Haberman staff) into MMA and expands MMA's presence across New England with Clark's offices in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Heritage, which has about 30 employees across five locations and specializes in trucking and transportation insurance, will join MMA to expand MMA's specialty capabilities and client reach.
