Astrion, a portfolio company of Brightstar Capital Partners, agreed to acquire Axient to expand its mission support, systems engineering, test & evaluation, and advanced engineering capabilities. The deal was announced July 24, 2024 and closed September 5, 2024; the acquisition is intended to broaden Astrion's defense and federal services offerings and scale the combined workforce and customer base.

The consolidation is intended to broaden the customer base, expand capabilities and create a mid-tier contractor in the space and defense market.
