CafePress Acquires Canvas On Demand

CafePress has acquired Canvas On Demand, including its Canvas On Demand Pro service and Great Big Canvas shop, to expand its art and custom canvas printing capabilities. Canvas On Demand will continue operating from Raleigh, North Carolina, and co-founders Joe Schmidt and Tom Lotrecchiano will serve as general managers of CafePress' art business. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition is financed by a fresh Rs 50 crore funding round led by Lightbox Ventures with participation from First Round Capital and Gund Investments; Photojojo's ~20-person team will be integrated into ZoomIn as the combined business targets ~Rs 180 crore in revenue next fiscal.

WeCommerce Holdings LP, a subsidiary wholly owned by Tiny Ltd., has acquired all issued and outstanding shares of Clean Canvas Limited for an upfront US$11.5 million plus up to US$1.2 million of contingent earn-out consideration. Clean Canvas, a UK-based Shopify theme designer and developer, will continue to operate as an independent brand and its results will be consolidated into Tiny's financials; the purchase includes a US$750,000 holdback and the earn-out may be paid in cash, Tiny common shares, or a combination.
