RoundTable Healthcare Partners has established Everwell Health, a new functional-ingredients platform, and Everwell made its first acquisition by buying Nutrition21 from JDS Therapeutics. Nutrition21, a Saddle Brook, New Jersey–based developer and marketer of clinically substantiated ingredients for dietary supplements, functional foods and beverages, will operate under the Everwell platform to accelerate R&D, product development and commercial expansion.

Bettera Brands (Highlander Partners) Acquires Nutravail

Bettera Brands, a portfolio company of Highlander Partners, acquired substantially all of the assets of Nutravail, a Chantilly, Virginia-based developer and manufacturer of soft chew nutraceuticals. The acquisition expands Bettera's confectionary delivery capabilities (gummies, lozenges and chewables) and is intended to accelerate cross-selling, product development and manufacturing capacity for wellness brands.

Columbia Grain / Enrich Foods Acquires Great River Milling

Columbia Grain International has launched consumer foods subsidiary Enrich Foods, LLC and completed its first acquisition by purchasing Great River Milling in Fountain City, Wisconsin. The acquisition adds organic and specialty flour, grains and co-manufacturing/private-label capacity — supporting Columbia Grain's expansion into retail and e-commerce consumer packaged foods under the Enrich Foods/Balanced Bushel portfolio.

Guardion Health Sciences Acquires Activ Nutritional, LLC (Viactiv) from Adare Pharmaceuticals

Guardion Health Sciences, Inc. agreed to acquire all equity of Activ Nutritional, LLC — owner of the Viactiv supplement brand — from Adare Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for $26.0 million in cash (subject to adjustments). The acquisition is intended to strengthen Guardion's clinical nutrition product portfolio, expand its presence in the retail and e-commerce supplement market, and provide an immediate boost to revenue and operating earnings.

Riviana Foods Acquires InHarvest

The purchase includes two California production facilities in Colusa and Woodland and expands Riviana's specialty value-added rice and grains footprint in the Western United States.

Danaher Acquires Aldevron for $9.6 Billion

Danaher Corporation entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Aldevron from EQT Private Equity for an enterprise value of approximately USD 9.6 billion. Aldevron, headquartered in Fargo, North Dakota with ~600 employees and additional operations in Madison, Wisconsin, will operate as a standalone company within Danaher's Life Sciences segment to expand Danaher's capabilities in genomic medicine and biologics manufacturing.
