UES, a national engineering and consulting firm, has acquired Geohazards Engineering and Geology, a Gainesville, Florida-based geology and engineering firm that specializes in forensic engineering, geotechnical engineering, geology and geophysics. The 18-person firm will continue operating from its Gainesville office as a second UES branch there, expanding UES' forensic engineering, geotechnical and geophysical capabilities.

The deal expands UES's presence and technical capabilities in the Western U.S.; Morrissey Goodale LLC advised Wallace-Kuhl on the transaction.
