Acquisitions in Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland

PQ has acquired the specialty silicate business of the vanBaerle Group. The Switzerland-based vanBaerle, a long-established maker of high-grade silicates used in welding, paints/coatings and construction applications, will be integrated into PQ's global silicate network to expand specialty product capabilities and reach new customers.

The Heubach Group and SK Capital Partners completed the acquisition of Clariant's Global Colorants Business (Clariant Pigments), combining the two businesses to operate under the Heubach brand and form a global pigment technology leader. The combined Heubach Group will operate from nineteen manufacturing facilities, establish its headquarters in Vienna, Austria, and employ approximately 3,000 people; Stefan Doboczky was named CEO effective January 10, 2022.

Calibre Scientific has acquired HUBERLAB. AG, a leading Swiss distributor of laboratory equipment, consumables, and supplies headquartered in Aesch, Switzerland. The acquisition expands Calibre Scientific’s distribution footprint in the DACH region and strengthens its product and ecommerce capabilities in the Swiss market.
