Acquisitions in Montevideo, Uruguay

Sparq, a U.S.-based provider of outsourced digital engineering, has acquired Octobot, a Montevideo-headquartered nearshore digital engineering firm. The acquisition expands Sparq’s nearshore delivery capabilities and digital product development services, giving Octobot employees access to broader resources and clients access to a larger delivery network.

Perficient, Inc. acquired Izmul S.A. and its subsidiaries (collectively, Overactive), a nearshore software development firm headquartered in Montevideo, Uruguay. The deal adds approximately $40 million in annual revenue and nearly 700 software development professionals, broadening Perficient's nearshore delivery capacity and expanding its presence across Latin America.

Cooke Seafood Group (through its U.S. affiliate Cooke Seafood USA, Inc.) submitted an offer to acquire 100% of the assets of Uruguayan seafood processor Fripur S.A. The bid, announced in December 2015, is being advised by Antarctica Advisors and aims to preserve operations and workers while expanding Cooke's global processing and distribution footprint.
