Insurance Acquisitions in Oregon

Inszone Insurance Services has acquired High Desert Insurance and Group, LLC, an independent insurance agency based in Bend, Oregon. The deal expands Inszone's presence in Oregon and provides High Desert clients access to Inszone's broader carrier network and national resources.

Alliant Insurance Services has acquired Johnson Benefit Planning, an employee benefits consulting firm with offices in Bend and West Linn, Oregon. The acquisition strengthens Alliant's presence and capabilities in the Pacific Northwest by adding Johnson Benefit Planning's consulting expertise and client relationships.

Inszone Insurance Services, a Sacramento-based national insurance brokerage, has acquired Cascade Insurance Center in Bend, Oregon and welcomed Noble Insurance (represented by Galen Blyth) as part of the transaction. The deal expands Inszone's Pacific Northwest footprint and brings additional local commercial, personal and employee-benefits expertise into its national platform.

EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants has acquired Century Insurance Group, LLC, an Oregon-based insurance agency specializing in employee benefits and commercial and personal property & casualty solutions. The deal, finalized in early July with Dowling Hales advising Century, expands EPIC’s Pacific Northwest footprint and gives the Century team access to EPIC’s broader resources and technology-driven insurance capabilities.

Alliant Insurance Services has acquired Oregon-based employee benefits firm Aldrich Benefits LP, expanding Alliant’s employee benefits capabilities and footprint in the Pacific Northwest, including Oregon and Vancouver, Washington. The entire Aldrich Benefits team will join Alliant; financial terms were not disclosed.

Alliant Insurance Services has acquired the Employee Benefits Division of Eugene, Oregon-based PBC Insurance, with the entire benefits team joining Alliant and continuing to serve clients from Eugene. The deal expands Alliant’s employee benefits capabilities and strengthens its Pacific Northwest footprint; terms were not disclosed.

Risk Strategies, a national specialty insurance brokerage, has acquired Benefit Design Group LLC (BDG), an independent Portland-based retail agency specializing in health, life and retirement solutions. The acquisition expands Risk Strategies' employee benefits capabilities and strengthens its presence in the Pacific Northwest; terms were not disclosed.

Risk Strategies, a national specialty insurance brokerage, has acquired Bisnett Insurance, a West Linn, Oregon-based full-service retail insurance agency. The acquisition expands Risk Strategies' presence in the Pacific Northwest and adds Bisnett's commercial, personal lines and employee benefits capabilities across Oregon, Arizona and Idaho; terms were not disclosed.

Hub International Limited has acquired the assets of Insurance Partners, LLC d/b/a Frinell Risk Advisors, a Lake Oswego, Oregon insurance agency that provides commercial and personal insurance and risk management services. The Frinell team will join Hub Northwest as Frinell Risk Advisors, a Hub International company; terms were not disclosed.

Highstreet Insurance Partners' Northwest Region has acquired the assets of Pendleton, Oregon-based Stratton Agency. Stratton's leadership team will remain in place and report to Jacob Neighbors, Agency President of Hermiston-based Simmons Insurance Group, a Highstreet Insurance Partner; terms were not disclosed.

Inszone Insurance Services acquired Business Insurance Solutions, a Springfield, Oregon insurance agency founded in 1997, marking Inszone’s first physical location in Oregon and its 10th state presence. Inszone will retain the target’s employees and location as it expands its Pacific Northwest footprint and continues its national roll-up strategy.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., through its U.S. wholesale brokerage division Risk Placement Services (RPS), acquired Hillsboro, Oregon-based Evergreen Insurance Managers Inc., a wholesale insurance broker and managing general agency. The acquisition expands RPS's presence in the greater Portland market and provides new growth opportunities across the Pacific Northwest; terms were not disclosed.

Hub International Limited has acquired the assets of Niedermeyer Risk Management, LLC, a Beaverton, Oregon-based employee benefits and insurance advisory firm. The Niedermeyer team (led by CEO Jon Niedermeyer) will join Hub Northwest to strengthen Hub's employee benefits, commercial and personal insurance capabilities, particularly across hospitality and construction verticals; terms were not disclosed.

Risk Strategies has acquired Fournier Group, a Portland-based full-service commercial and personal lines retail insurance agency, to expand its presence in the Pacific Northwest and add aviation, entertainment and hospitality expertise. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

OLI Insurance Services, a subsidiary of Heffernan Insurance Brokers, acquired Portland-based Rose City Associates effective October 1, 2021. Rose City will operate autonomously as Heffernan Rose City with founders Pete Lackner and Bob Asher continuing to lead the team while gaining Heffernan/OLI market access, resources and support to grow in Oregon.

Hub International Limited acquired the assets of Oregon-based Ward Insurance Agency, Inc., expanding Hub’s specialty insurance capabilities and regional presence in Oregon. Ward’s team, including President Erik Finrow, will join Hub Northwest and continue serving commercial and personal insurance, employee benefits and risk solutions clients across Eugene, Portland and Medford.

OneDigital has acquired Portland-based Impact Benefits & Retirement and Strategic Employee Benefit Services of Oregon to expand its Pacific-region presence. The acquisitions broaden OneDigital’s employee benefits, retirement/wealth and HR advisory capabilities and bring the two offices into OneDigital’s Pacific team under shared oversight.

High Street Insurance Partners (HSIP), a Traverse City-based insurance brokerage platform, acquired Hermiston, Oregon-based Simmons Insurance Group. Simmons Insurance Group will remain led by Agency President Jacob Neighbors and will operate its Hermiston and Beaverton offices as part of HSIP’s expanding Pacific Northwest footprint.

IMA Financial Group announced a partnership to bring Oregon-based k.p.d. Insurance Inc. into the IMA family effective April 1, 2021, expanding IMA's brokerage footprint into the Pacific Northwest. k.p.d. will retain its name and leadership (CEO Kyle Hudson) and contribute nearly 100 employees across Portland and Springfield, Oregon, to lead IMA's Pacific Northwest region.

Alera Group, a national insurance and financial services firm based in Deerfield, Illinois, acquired CSNW Benefits, a Portland-based employee benefits and retirement services firm, effective December 31, 2020. The acquisition strengthens Alera Group’s presence in the U.S. West/Northwest region and brings CSNW’s local benefits, HR compliance tools and retirement expertise into Alera’s national platform; terms were not disclosed.

Hub International Limited has acquired the assets of Oregon-based Barker-Uerlings Insurance Inc., a full-service insurance agency with offices in Corvallis, Albany and Lebanon. Terms were not disclosed; Barker-Uerlings’ president, Steve Uerlings, will join Hub Northwest as Senior Vice President as Hub expands its presence in the Pacific Northwest.

Hub International Limited acquired the assets of Portland-based BCI Group, Inc. and its subsidiary Plus Point Services, Inc. Terms were not disclosed. The acquisition expands Hub’s employee benefits, retirement and life insurance capabilities and strengthens its presence in Oregon and southwestern Washington.
