Packaging Acquisitions in Michigan

ORBIS Corporation has acquired Robinson Industries, a thermoforming specialist headquartered in Coleman, Michigan, to expand ORBIS' manufacturing footprint and thermoforming capabilities. Robinson will transition to the ORBIS brand, bringing two Coleman manufacturing facilities and roughly 100 employees; terms were not disclosed.

Arkema finalized the acquisition on December 2, 2024 of Dow's flexible packaging laminating adhesives business for an enterprise value of US$150 million. The business (around US$250 million in annual sales, ~280 employees, five production sites across Italy, the United States and Mexico) will be integrated into Arkema's adhesive platform (Bostik) to expand its flexible packaging product offering and capture cost and development synergies.

MAX Solutions Inc. has purchased a majority interest in LTi Printing, Inc., a full-service printing and packaging company based in Sturgis, Michigan. The deal expands MAX Solutions' geographic footprint in the Midwest and adds LTi's folding cartons, pressure-sensitive labels and commercial print capabilities to MAX's specialty packaging platform.

Specialized Packaging Group (SPG), a portfolio company of Altamont Capital Partners, acquired Monroe, Michigan-based Complete Packaging from the Spell Family Office in late 2023. The add-on purchase expands SPG’s engineered/protective packaging capabilities and Midwest footprint while adding roughly 90 employees to SPG’s ~1,600-person workforce.

Nefab Group AB has acquired PolyFlex Products, Inc., a US-based provider of engineered returnable and plastic packaging solutions. The acquisition strengthens Nefab's market position in the Americas and expands its offering in lithium-ion battery (LiB), e-mobility and automotive packaging; Angle Advisors acted as exclusive financial advisor to PolyFlex.

TemperPack Technologies, Inc. has completed the acquisition of KTM Industries, Inc., the maker of Green Cell Foam, a starch-based insulation material for perishable food and life science shipments. The deal expands TemperPack’s sustainable cold-chain product offering and market coverage; the combined company will operate across four U.S. locations and employ over 700 people.

Fortis Solutions Group, a portfolio company of Harvest Partners, has acquired Anchor Printing, a Novi, Michigan-based flexographic and offset printer specializing in shrink sleeves, flexible packaging and pressure-sensitive labels. The deal brings Anchor's product capabilities and customer relationships into Fortis's expanding packaging platform as an add-on to bolster manufacturing capabilities and end-market coverage.

Wildpack Beverage Inc. (TSXV: CANS) has completed the acquisition of KT Murray Corporation dba Land and Sea Packaging, a high-volume aluminum can brokering business based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, for US$37.2 million. The transaction was funded with cash and shares and complements Wildpack's filling, decorating and geographic expansion strategy while adding supply-chain brokering capabilities and an established customer base.

Tekni-Plex has acquired Michigan-based M-Industries, LLC, a specialist in container vented lining technology. M-Industries will operate as part of Tekni-Plex's Tri-Seal division, expanding Tekni-Plex's venting and technical packaging capabilities for e-commerce, home delivery and other demanding packaging applications.

Landaal Packaging Systems, a family-owned corrugated packaging and POP display manufacturer, has acquired the assets of Westcott Displays, a Detroit-based point-of-purchase (POP) display manufacturer. The Westcott team and brand will continue servicing customers while being integrated into Landaal’s national packaging and POP service model to expand Landaal’s POP capabilities and scale.

Selig Group, owned by CC Industries, has completed the acquisition of Performance Systematix (PSI), a Grand Rapids, Michigan-based supplier of container and packaging venting solutions. PSI will operate as a subsidiary of Selig and the transaction expands Selig's product capabilities and global packaging solutions offering.

AWT Labels & Packaging, a Morgan Stanley Capital Partners-backed platform, has acquired MacArthur Corporation, a custom-engineered labels and specialty packaging manufacturer based in Grand Blanc, Michigan. The acquisition expands AWT’s engineering, manufacturing and product capabilities—adding serialized barcoding, RFID, anti-counterfeit, anti-tamper and anti-microbial solutions—and MacArthur will continue to operate under its existing name.
