Packaging Acquisitions in Tennessee

Tower Arch Capital has recapitalized Documotion Research, Inc. (DRI), the Columbia, Tennessee-based manufacturer of StickyPOS linerless labels, partnering with the Van Boom family while Joel Van Boom remains CEO. The investment will support expanded production, product development and entry into new end markets (including healthcare and logistics); terms were not disclosed.

ID Images, a portfolio company of Sole Source Capital, has acquired Lebanon, Tennessee-based Hickman Label. The add-on expands IDI’s omnichannel presence and on-demand inkjet label capabilities through Hickman’s online ordering platform and customer base of over 2,000 active customers.

Ara Partners, a private equity firm focused on industrial decarbonization, has acquired Genera Energy Inc., a U.S.-based manufacturer of non-wood agricultural pulp and molded fiber packaging. Ara committed up to an additional $200 million to expand Genera's manufacturing footprint and capacity in the U.S.; Genera's previous owners (WindSail Capital Group, Coppermine Capital and Stairway Capital) will retain minority stakes.

Ares Management Corporation’s Private Equity Group has completed the acquisition of Resource Label Group, LLC from portfolio sponsors First Atlantic Capital and TPG Growth. Resource Label Group is a leading North American manufacturer of pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves and RFID/NFC solutions headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee, operating 19 manufacturing locations and employing roughly 1,400 people; terms were not disclosed.

Radial Equity Partners has announced a new partnership with Lewisburg Printing Company (LPC), a manufacturer of high-graphic printed materials and packaging founded in 1898. Radial will provide resources to support LPC's organic growth and buy-and-build strategy; terms were not disclosed.
