Caltius Structured Capital provided a junior debt and equity financing package to Profitable Ideas Exchange (PIE) to facilitate a management buyout. The investment will support PIE's management team as they continue to grow the Bozeman-based business development services firm for consulting and professional services clients.

Beacon Communications, a Colorado-based critical communications and security integrator, has acquired PhotoScan NorthWest, a Montana-based full-service security company. The acquisition expands Beacon's service and installation capabilities and strengthens its ability to design, implement, and support security and communications systems throughout Montana.

Safeguard Acquisitions Inc., affiliated with Safeguard Business Systems and Deluxe Corporation, completed an asset purchase of Hammer’s Quality Business Systems (QBS) of Helena, Montana and subsequently sold the business to long-time Safeguard distributors Greg and Vicki Schob. The Hammers will remain involved during the transition, and Safeguard said the move is part of a broader program to fund transactions that expand its network and help business owners exit.
