Restaurants & Hospitality Acquisitions in Maryland

BDT & MSD Partners, via its affiliated hospitality investment vehicle, will make a minority investment in Auberge Resorts Collection, the manager and brand of a portfolio of luxury hotels, resorts, residences and private clubs. The capital will also be used to acquire and develop luxury hotel and residential assets to be branded and managed by Auberge, supporting the group's strategic growth across the Americas, Europe and beyond.

Curated Events, a portfolio company of private equity firm Dubin Clark, has acquired Sugarplum Tent Co., a Boyds, Maryland-based provider of tent and event rental services. The add-on deal — terms not disclosed — brings Sugarplum’s high-end tenting and under-tent offerings into the Curated Events platform; founder Barbi Richardson sold the business and was represented by Fred Hageman of Rental Business Advisors.

Penn National Gaming completed the acquisition of the operations of Hollywood Casino Perryville from Gaming and Leisure Properties, Inc. for $31.1 million in cash and entered into a lease with GLPI for the facility real estate with annual rent of approximately $7.77 million. The deal, approved by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission, expands Penn National's regional gaming footprint and omni-channel sports betting capabilities in Maryland.

Goode Partners, a New York-based private equity firm, made a strategic growth investment in Silver Diner to fund geographic expansion and accelerate the restaurant group's growth. Silver Diner, headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, operates roughly 15 locations across New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia and will partner with founders Robert Giaimo and Ype Von Hengst to expand its footprint and menu offerings.
