Retail Acquisitions in Kentucky

Stout's ACE Hardware (Stout's Feed Store) in Mount Washington, Kentucky was sold to ACE Mt. Washington LLC, operated by local entrepreneur Mafaz Ansar, with the transaction closing May 22, 2025. The acquisition transfers ownership from the Stout family to Ansar—who already owns ACE Hardware Radcliff—supporting local continuity of service while expanding Ansar's ACE footprint in Kentucky.

Casey’s has acquired Wow! Foodmart LLC and its affiliated retail portfolio, consisting of one travel center, seven convenience stores and four liquor stores located between Lexington and Richmond, Kentucky along I-75. The deal expands Casey’s retail footprint in central Kentucky; Downstream Energy Group acted as exclusive M&A advisor to the sellers.

Blue Compass RV, a Fort Lauderdale–based retail operator, has acquired Patriot RV in the Lexington, Kentucky market and rebranded the store as Blue Compass RV. The location — a state-of-the-art facility on I-75 in Georgetown — expands Blue Compass's footprint in the Lexington area and enhances its retail and service capacity for new and used recreational vehicles.

Houchens Industries, Inc. has acquired Feeders Supply, LLC (Feeders Pet Supply) from PNC Riverarch Capital; terms were not disclosed. Feeders is an omnichannel pet specialty retailer headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky with 53 retail locations and a growing e-commerce platform.

Texas-based investment group CMG completed a series of roll-up transactions in 2022 that added more than 38 Ace Hardware storefronts across nine deals, including the purchase of 20+ Potter's Ace Hardware locations in middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky and several individual Ace franchise stores (three in Wisconsin and one in Douglasville, Georgia). CMG is combining these assets under a single platform called Bolster Hardware to scale operations, realize efficiencies, and provide succession/liquidity solutions for aging, family-owned sellers.

CMG Companies (led by Al Bhakta) formed a new portfolio company, Bolster Hardware, and acquired 21 Ace Hardware stores operating as Potters Ace Hardware in Kentucky and Tennessee. The acquisition expands CMG's multi-unit franchise portfolio and diversifies its holdings beyond restaurants into the hardware/retail sector.

Camping World Holdings, Inc. announced it will acquire Big Daddy RV's, a family-owned RV dealership in London, Kentucky. The location (325 County Farm Road) will transition to the Camping World brand upon closing as the company expands its dealership footprint in Kentucky to better service customers.

Gopuff has acquired Liquor Barn, a Kentucky-based chain of 23 beer, wine and liquor stores, from private equity firm Blue Equity. The deal gives Gopuff physical retail footprint and inventory infrastructure across Kentucky to accelerate its instant-delivery expansion and deepen its presence in Louisville, Lexington and other markets in the state.
