Renovo Capital’s portfolio company Global HR Research (GHRR) has merged with Employment Screening Services (ESS), a Birmingham, Alabama-based provider of background screening and drug testing solutions. The combination—Renovo’s sixth acquisition in the background screening sector since 2017—creates a larger platform serving 5,000+ clients and aims to accelerate technology investment, product innovation and revenue growth.

CoAdvantage, a national Professional Employer Organization (PEO), has acquired Alabama-based SourcePointe to expand its footprint and service capacity. The deal brings SourcePointe's regional PEO operations and leadership (CEO Robby Pierce) into CoAdvantage, accelerating geographic expansion into Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi and strengthening CoAdvantage's position in the SMB HR outsourcing market.
