Acquisitions in Alaska in 2020

USI Insurance Services has acquired Sitka, Alaska-based Venneberg Insurance. All of Venneberg's employees, including owner and principal Mike Venneberg, will join USI; terms were not disclosed. The deal expands USI's footprint in Southeast Alaska and brings local risk management and insurance capability onto USI's national platform.

Ascent Global Logistics acquired Alaska-based Hageland Aviation Services, LLC and launched Rambler Air, a new Anchorage-based air service focused on commuter flights and passenger and cargo charters. Rambler Air is expected to begin service in early 2021 with an initial fleet of eight Piper Chieftain Navajos and two Beechcraft 1900Ds and plans to create up to 45 aviation jobs in Alaska.

Voyager Space Holdings, Inc. announced its intent to acquire Anchorage-based The Launch Company, a developer of standardized launch-site hardware, ground support equipment, and automated launch processes. The acquisition expands Voyager's vertical capabilities in launch services and ground support, enabling The Launch Company to scale operations and better serve commercial NewSpace and government customers.
