Telecommunications Acquisitions in Louisiana

AT&T has completed the $5.75 billion all-cash acquisition of substantially all of Lumen Technologies' Mass Markets fiber business, adding more than 1 million fiber subscribers and expanding AT&T's fiber footprint across 32 states. The deal brings access to over 4 million customer locations and Lumen's fiber construction capabilities, supporting AT&T's goal of reaching more than 60 million fiber locations by 2030 and enabling deeper converged broadband and 5G customer relationships.

Mobile Communications America, Inc. (MCA) has acquired Kay Radio & Electronics Services, Inc. (d/b/a Kay Radio), an authorized Motorola dealer and communications solutions provider based in Alexandria, Louisiana. The acquisition expands MCA’s national footprint into central Louisiana and eastern Texas and brings Kay Radio’s service capabilities and customer relationships into MCA’s network of solution centers.

A fund managed by Macquarie Asset Management has agreed to make a structured equity investment in SwyftFiber (CableSouth Media III d/b/a SwyftFiber / SwyftConnect). The investment will support accelerated construction of fiber infrastructure and expansion into existing and new markets across Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas, with a focus on underserved communities and programs such as Louisiana GUMBO and FCC RDOF.
