Automotive Acquisitions in Utah

Young Automotive Group has agreed to acquire Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Riverdale from Asbury Automotive, expanding the buyer's presence in Weber County, Utah. The location will be renamed Young Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Riverdale and Jacob Sobers will be appointed general manager.

Quality Collision Group (QCG), a McKinney, Texas-based MSO backed by Susquehanna, has acquired Auto Crafters Auto Body & Paint in Layton, Utah. The family-run, I-CAR Gold Class certified shop will join QCG's growing portfolio as the company expands its presence in Utah.

Utah-based Burt Brothers Tire & Service Inc. has acquired both Tire Buster's service centers in Payson and American Fork, Utah, in a transaction effective November 9. The locations will continue operating under the Tire Buster's name and existing employees will be retained as Burt Brothers expands its statewide footprint.

EverWash, a Philadelphia-based membership car wash platform, has acquired Coinless, a mobile payment and hardware solutions provider for the car wash industry. The deal will let EverWash integrate Coinless's payment hardware and app technology into its membership platform to support In-Bay Automatic and Self-Serve washes while maintaining service for existing Coinless customers.

Lazydays (Nasdaq: LAZY) has acquired RVzz, an RV dealership in St. George, Utah, rebranding it as Lazydays RV of St. George. The acquisition expands Lazydays' retail footprint to 23 locations, strengthens its presence in the Southwest, and is expected to contribute approximately $35 million in annualized revenue; the seller was Rick Loghry.

Ideanomics has completed the acquisition of VIA Motors, a U.S.-based all-electric commercial vehicle manufacturer. The deal brings VIA's VDRIVE skateboard and VTRUX commercial vehicle portfolio into Ideanomics' Mobility vertical and aims to integrate VIA's electric work trucks with Ideanomics Energy's charging and financing solutions to accelerate commercial EV fleet adoption.

Wheel Pros, a designer and distributor of aftermarket vehicle enhancements backed by Clearlake Capital, has acquired TeraFlex, a Utah-based manufacturer and distributor of aftermarket suspensions, shocks and related components. The founders of TeraFlex will remain with the business; financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition expands Wheel Pros' suspension and performance shock product offerings and broadens the combined company's distribution footprint.

Mammoth Holdings, LLC has acquired Wasatch Express Car Wash, a one-unit express car wash operator in West Jordan, Utah; the Wasatch Express owners also made equity investments in Mammoth. The deal expands Mammoth's footprint in Utah (bringing its total to six stores in the state) and supports its planned regional growth pipeline.

DexKo Global's wholly owned subsidiary Dexter Axle Company has acquired Progress Mfg. Inc., a Provo, Utah-based maker of integrated sway control hitches and towing accessories (brands include Equal-i-zer and Fastway). The deal expands Dexter/DexKo's portfolio of towing and trailer safety products and broadens its offering to OEM and dealer channels across North America.

Atlanta-based Mammoth Holdings has acquired Papa's Express Tunnel Car Wash, an express conveyor car wash in Saratoga Springs, Utah. The deal expands Mammoth's presence in Utah County to five stores and is consistent with its strategy of acquiring operator-run car washes; Mammoth is PE-backed via a partnership with Red Dog Equity.

ReadyLIFT Suspensions, a division of Wheel Pros (backed by Clearlake Capital), acquired Zbroz Racing, a manufacturer of UTV and snowmobile suspension components. The add-on expands ReadyLIFT/Wheel Pros' powersports and aftermarket suspension product portfolio and gives Zbroz access to Wheel Pros' sourcing and distribution network; terms were not disclosed.

Mammoth Holdings has acquired Wiggy Wash, a four-unit conveyor car wash operator in Utah Valley. Red Dog Equity (with backing from The Pritzker Organization) provided the equity financing and Monroe Capital provided debt; Wiggy Wash founders Brent Wignall and Chris Hailstone made a significant equity investment in Mammoth and will continue in executive and development roles as Mammoth expands in Utah and the Mountain West.

Aftermarket Performance Group (APG) acquired Truck Tech, LLC from co-owners Royal Coburn and Eric Evans on August 16, 2019. The Salt Lake City business adds same-day and first-open-of-business next-day shipping capability and a dealership sales channel to APG's aftermarket distribution and will operate out of APG's Salt Lake City location; co-owner Royal Coburn joined APG to lead expedited shipping and dealership initiatives.

Daystar Products, a Phoenix-based automotive aftermarket parts manufacturer backed by private equity sponsor Dubin Clark, has acquired Tuff Country, an off-road suspension and accessories maker. Midwest Mezzanine provided subordinated debt and equity to support Dubin Clark and Daystar in the add-on acquisition, and Daystar said it is actively seeking further add-on investments in the automotive aftermarket sector.
