Hillcore Group Acquires Thompson Construction Group

Hillcore Group has completed the acquisition of Thompson Construction Group. Thompson, a Spruce Grove, Alberta–based heavy civil contractor with over 1,500 employees and a large equipment fleet, will partner with Hillcore and its senior management to expand service capacity, pursue capital expenditure and acquisition opportunities, and support geographic growth across Western Canada.

Hillcore Group has completed the acquisition of Zanron Mechanical Services, a Kitimat, British Columbia-based metal fabrication and mechanical construction services provider. The purchase is an add-on to Hillcore's industrial portfolio and will complement affiliates such as Waiward by supporting long-term maintenance contracts for major local industrial operators including Canada LNG and Rio Tinto.

The acquisition expands RailWorks' West Coast presence and capabilities, and allows H&H to leverage RailWorks' flash butt welding resources and broader maintenance-of-way platform.

FTI Consulting Acquires The Rhodes Group

FTI Consulting, Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire The Rhodes Group, a construction consulting firm with offices in Pittsburgh and Houston. Approximately 40 billable professionals from The Rhodes Group will join FTI's Construction & Environmental Solutions practice to strengthen the company's construction advisory, dispute resolution and expert testimony capabilities in North America.
