Foresight Williams Technology (a JV of Foresight Group and Williams Advanced Engineering) led a £1 million investment into dRISK, an autonomous vehicle testing and AI training company, to accelerate development and commercial adoption of its edge-case simulation and data platform. The round also included participation from Stantec and several existing investors (Okapi Venture Capital, Netsu Equity, SaaS Venture Capital, Poetic Partners and Mt. Wilson Ventures).

Foresight Group’s Foresight Williams Technology funds have made a growth capital investment into Opsydia, a University of Oxford spin-out that develops sub-surface gemstone laser inscription systems. The round was completed alongside existing investors Parkwalk Advisors and Oxford Science Enterprises to support Opsydia’s R&D expansion, scale manufacturing and increase customer support for diamond and laboratory-grown gemstone markets.

Fortescue (FFI) Acquires Williams Advanced Engineering

Fortescue Metals Group, via its green-energy arm Fortescue Future Industries (FFI), has agreed to acquire UK-based Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE) for £164 million to accelerate development of battery and electrification technologies for decarbonising heavy industry. The deal brings WAE's high-performance battery systems, IP and engineering capability into Fortescue's green energy strategy to support zero-emission heavy mobile equipment, rail and industrial transport.

Foresight-led £400k Growth Investment into TextureJet

Foresight Group, via the Midlands Engine Investment Fund, has provided a £400,000 growth capital investment into TextureJet as part of a wider £650,000 round also including the University of Nottingham and members of the Minerva Angel Investor Group. The funding will enable the Nottingham-based spin-out to scale production of its patented surface texturing machines, expand its team and pursue overseas market expansion across aerospace, automotive and medical device end markets.
