Maverix Leads $83.5M Growth Investment in Agora Brands

Agora Brands, a Shopify-focused ecommerce aggregator that acquires D2C brands, received an $83.5 million growth-capital investment led by Toronto-based Maverix Private Equity with participation from Foundation Capital and Victory Park Capital. The capital will fund aggressive brand acquisitions, development of technology and centralized shared services, and expansion of Agora’s operational infrastructure under founders Jesse Horwitz, Ben Cogan and Ray Cao.

Forum Brands Acquires Organic Period Care Brand Lola

Forum Brands, an e-commerce aggregator, has acquired Lola, a New York–based period care brand known for organic cotton tampons, pads and other sexual-health products. The deal, begun in Q3 of last year and finalized in December, will fold Lola into Forum’s portfolio to accelerate omnichannel growth and retail expansion while leveraging Forum’s Amazon and DTC capabilities.
