Sauer Brands Inc., a portfolio company of Falfurrias Capital Partners, has acquired Chicago Custom Foods LLC, the maker of the Kernel Season's popcorn seasoning brand, from Highlander Partners. The deal expands Sauer Brands' branded snack and seasoning portfolio and will operate CCF as a separate business unit under existing leadership; terms were not disclosed.

Peak Rock will partner with CCFF's management and the Hall family (who remain investors) to accelerate growth by expanding capabilities and capacity and pursuing complementary add-on acquisitions. CCFF operates flavor and specialty ingredient manufacturing facilities in California and Indiana and supplies manufacturers and foodservice customers across dairy, bakery and beverage markets.
