ACON Investments’ Latin America Opportunities Fund V completed the acquisition of Vitalis Group, a manufacturer and wholesaler of generic injectable pharmaceuticals with production facilities in Colombia and Mexico. The Fund invested alongside select limited partners (DEG, FMO and Proparco) to support Vitalis’ regional expansion and cross-selling of its broad product portfolio across Latin America.

Abenex Invests in Santis LAB

Vivo Infusion Acquires Specialty Infusion

Vivo Infusion, a national provider of community-based ambulatory infusion and injection care, has acquired Specialty Infusion, a provider of ambulatory infusion and specialty pharmacy services operating 14 centers across New York, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. The deal expands Vivo's footprint to a combined 55 ambulatory infusion centers across ten states; financial terms were not disclosed.

MediPharm Labs Corp. Acquires VIVO Cannabis Inc.

Effective April 1, 2023, MediPharm Labs Corp. completed an all-equity arrangement to acquire all outstanding shares of VIVO Cannabis Inc., making VIVO a wholly-owned subsidiary. Under the arrangement, former VIVO shareholders received 0.2910 MediPharm common shares per VIVO share and MediPharm issued approximately 107,930,964 shares as consideration; VIVO shares are expected to be delisted from the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Calibre Scientific Acquires ACEFESA (Barcelona-based Laboratory Distributor)

(operating as ACEFESA), a Barcelona-based distributor of laboratory consumables and equipment serving biotech, molecular biology, pharmaceutical and veterinary customers. The deal expands Calibre Scientific's footprint and product portfolio across the Iberian Peninsula, adding ACEFESA's extensive SKU offering and filtration-system expertise to its Spanish operations.

JBS S.A. Acquires Vivera Foodgroup for €341 million

JBS S.A. has agreed to acquire Vivera Foodgroup, one of Europe’s largest plant-based protein producers, for an enterprise value of €341 million. The deal includes Vivera’s three manufacturing sites and R&D center in the Netherlands and will position JBS to expand its global plant-based product platform while keeping Vivera as a standalone unit under its current management.
