Michael Baker International has fully merged its portfolio company, Akela Engineering and Consulting, into the firm's Sustainable and Resilient Solutions (SRS) business vertical to create a unified Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) capability. The consolidation is intended to strengthen Michael Baker's ability to pursue larger, more complex MEP projects and to support growth in Southern California and national private-sector markets.

The acquisition strengthens Michael Baker’s Sustainable and Resilient Solutions (SRS) vertical by adding in-house manufacturing capabilities, enabling end-to-end MEP and critical power solutions for energy, data center, pharmaceutical and industrial customers.
