Corza Medical (GTCR Portfolio Company) Acquires Katena Products from Audax Private Equity

Corza Medical, a GTCR portfolio company, has acquired Katena Products from Audax Private Equity. Katena is a Parsippany, New Jersey–based manufacturer of precision ophthalmic instruments, single-use devices and specialty biologics with more than 200 employees and sales in over 110 countries. Audax, which acquired Katena in 2015, supported the company's operational and M&A-driven growth during its ownership.

GTCR and Corza Health Merge Surgical Specialties and TachoSil to Create Corza Medical

GTCR, together with management partner Gregory T. Lucier (Corza Health), acquired Surgical Specialties Corporation and the TachoSil fibrin sealant patch product line from Takeda and merged them to form Corza Medical. The new company, headquartered in Westwood, Massachusetts, operates in 13 countries with manufacturing in the U.S., Mexico, England, Germany and China and a global team of over 1,700 employees.

Cobepa S.A. Provides Growth Equity to Precision Orthopedics

Cobepa S.A., a global private equity firm, closed a growth equity investment in Precision Orthopedics, a Laurel, Maryland-based provider of integrated orthopedic surgical care. Precision will use the capital to bolster operations and pursue geographic expansion — including opening additional ambulatory surgery centers and partnering with hospitals — and Cobepa North America team members joined Precision's board.

CooperSurgical (CooperCompanies) Acquires obp Surgical

CooperCompanies, through its CooperSurgical business, has acquired obp Surgical, a U.S.-based maker of single-use cordless surgical retractors and suction devices, for approximately $100 million. obp Surgical's ONETRAC products generated roughly $14.5 million of trailing twelve-month revenue; Cooper said the acquisition will be neutral to non-GAAP EPS in fiscal 2024 and accretive thereafter and will be reported in its Office and Surgical category.

ONCAP Invests in Biomerics; Biomerics Merges with Precision Concepts Medical

The transaction, completed with participation from Biomerics' founder Travis Sessions, current shareholder Wasatch Equity Partners and the Marino family, creates a larger vertically integrated medical device contract manufacturer with expanded capabilities and scale to pursue further strategic M&A.

Compass Precision Acquires Bergeron Machine

Compass Precision, a portfolio company of Main Street Capital Holdings, acquired Bergeron Machine, Inc., a Westford, Massachusetts-based precision Swiss-style machine shop. Bergeron, founded in 1948, operates a 14,700 sq ft facility with about 25 employees and ~30 CNC machines servicing semiconductor, aerospace, and defense customers; the acquisition is an add-on to expand Compass's manufacturing capabilities and geographic presence.
