Cable ONE (NYSE: CABO) entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Clearwave Communications, a facilities-based fiber network operator headquartered in Harrisburg, Illinois. The acquisition gives Cable ONE a dense regional fiber footprint and expands its business/enterprise services capabilities within its existing markets; Clearwave was majority-owned by funds affiliated with Stephens Capital Partners LLC.

GTCR, Stephens and The Pritzker Organization Invest in Cable One's Clearwave Fiber Joint Venture

GTCR LLC, Stephens Capital Partners and The Pritzker Organization (along with certain members of management) have formed a joint venture investment in Clearwave Fiber LLC alongside Cable One. The investors will make substantial cash investments to accelerate Fiber-to-the-Premise (FTTP) expansion across Clearwave's footprint and near-adjacent markets while Cable One retains majority ownership and receives no cash proceeds.

CBRE Investment Management Acquires Gateway Fiber from Crosstimbers Capital Group

A fund sponsored by CBRE Investment Management has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Gateway Fiber, a Wright City, Missouri-based fiber-to-the-home provider, from Crosstimbers Capital Group. CBRE IM said the acquisition will expand its private infrastructure portfolio and enable integration with its middle-mile portfolio company WANRack to accelerate broadband deployment in underserved communities; the deal is expected to close in February 2023 pending regulatory approvals.

GI Partners Acquires Rise Broadband

The acquisition expands ENTRUST's utility broadband and grid modernization capabilities and footprint, enabling support for electric cooperatives, municipalities and investor-owned utilities.

i3 Broadband Acquires Big River Broadband and Circle Fiber

i3 Broadband has completed the acquisition of Big River Broadband and its wholly owned subsidiary Circle Fiber, expanding i3's fiber-to-the-home footprint into southeast Missouri. The Peoria-area operator said the deal closed on May 31, 2023 and that it expects to invest an additional $100 million to grow the southeast Missouri market and expand gigabit services.
