AWT Labels & Packaging has acquired Ottawa-based Label Innovation Inc., a custom label manufacturer and converter of specialty components, tapes and labels. Label Innovation will operate as a standalone business with its existing management team retained, and the acquisition is intended to expand AWT’s capabilities and customer reach in industrial, medical and security end markets.

Ennis, Inc. Acquires Printing Technologies, Inc. (PTI)

Ennis, Inc. (NYSE: EBF) has acquired Printing Technologies, Inc. (PTI), a manufacturer of labels, thermal printer rolls and other printing media based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Ennis said the acquisition will expand its product capabilities and enhance its printed media and labeling offerings to customers and distributors across multiple end markets.

Brook + Whittle Acquires LLT Labels

Brook & Whittle to Acquire Innovative Labeling Solutions and Wizard Labels

Brook & Whittle Holding Corp., a Snow Phipps-backed label manufacturer, signed definitive agreements to acquire Innovative Labeling Solutions, Inc. (ILS) and Wizard Labels LLC as add-ons to its platform. The founders of ILS and Wizard Labels (Jay Dollries, Steve Wolf and Steve Smith) will remain involved and become shareholders; the deals are expected to close within 30 days and aim to expand Brook & Whittle’s digital and online label capabilities across food & beverage, personal care and nutraceutical end markets.

HID Global Acquires Omni-ID

HID Global, an ASSA ABLOY Group company, has acquired Omni-ID, a Rochester-based manufacturer of rugged RAIN UHF RFID tags and industrial IoT hardware. Fortis Solutions Group LLC, a portfolio company of funds managed by Harvest Partners, has acquired Label Tech Inc., an ISO-certified flexographic and digital manufacturer of pressure-sensitive and non-pressure-sensitive labels and flexible packaging based in Somersworth, New Hampshire. The acquisition expands Fortis's geographic footprint and product capabilities across consumer products, food & beverage, and health & beauty end markets.
