Old World Spices & Seasonings (OWS Foods) acquired Head Country, Inc., a Ponca City, Oklahoma-based maker of barbecue sauces, seasonings and marinades. The transaction represents an exit for Gladstone Investment Corporation, which had owned Head Country since 2014 and realized a capital gain on the sale.

McCormick Acquires Cholula Hot Sauce from L Catterton

McCormick & Company agreed to acquire Cholula, a leading hot sauce producer and distributor, from private equity firm L Catterton for $800 million. L Catterton had acquired and transformed Cholula in April 2019, investing behind the brand and commercial capabilities to drive retail and foodservice growth prior to the sale.

Bell's Foods LLC Acquires Bell's Seasoning Brand

Bell's Foods LLC, formed by three entrepreneurs including Dave West, has acquired the historic Bell's Brand (including Bell's Seasoning, Gravy, Brine and Onions) after the prior owner's financial difficulties. The new owners have restarted manufacturing and restocked core seasonings for the holidays, with Bell's Stuffing expected to return to shelves in early 2025.

Solina Acquires W.T. Lynch Foods Limited

Solina has acquired W.T. Lynch Foods Limited, an Ontario-based manufacturer of sauces, syrups, dessert toppings and soup/gravy bases, to accelerate its North American expansion. Lynch Foods generates approximately CAD 95M in annual sales and its 178 employees and leadership team will join Solina, increasing Solina's Canadian headcount and coast-to-coast capabilities.

L2 Capital Acquires Kosmos Q

L2 Capital completed the acquisition of Kosmos Q, a premium barbecue brand founded by Darian Khosravi, and appointed Scott Jensen as CEO. Oxer Capital Partners and Salem Investment Partners provided debt financing and co-invested; Generational Equity advised the seller. Terms were not disclosed.

Blue Point Capital Acquires Water Lilies Food

Blue Point Capital Partners has acquired Water Lilies Food, LLC, a Bay Shore, New York-based manufacturer and distributor of premium frozen Asian-inspired cuisine, in a transaction with sellers including AUA Private Equity Partners; Water Lilies CEO Peter Lee is retaining a significant ownership stake. Blue Point will partner with the Water Lilies management team and deploy its food-and-beverage operating resources (including appointed operating executives) to support growth, capability expansion and add-on acquisition efforts.
