New State Aviation Holdings, a general aviation platform sponsored by New State Capital Partners, has acquired Blackhawk Aerospace, a Waco, Texas-based leader in turboprop engine upgrades and aircraft performance improvements. Blackhawk will join NS Aviation's aviation portfolio alongside AVEX and continue to operate independently with its management team remaining in place; terms were not disclosed.

The Blackhawk Group Acquires Glendale Aero Services' MRO Business

The Blackhawk Group, a portfolio company of New State Capital Partners, has acquired the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) business of Glendale Aero Services and will rebrand the operation as a Blackhawk Performance Center (BPC-Glendale). The acquisition expands The Blackhawk Group’s Performance Center network and adds specialized Cirrus SR/Vision Jet and Cessna MRO, CAPS and avionics capabilities; Glendale’s Director of Maintenance, John Fisher, will remain in place. Terms were not disclosed.

The Sterling Group Acquires West Star Aviation from Norwest Equity Partners

The Sterling Group, a middle-market private equity firm, has completed the acquisition of West Star Aviation from Norwest Equity Partners. West Star is a leading independent provider of MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) services to the business aviation industry with primary locations in East Alton, Illinois; Grand Junction, Colorado; Chattanooga, Tennessee; and Perryville, Missouri.

Directional Aviation’s OneSky Flight acquired Associated Aircraft Group (AAG), a New York–based helicopter operator and FAA part 145 repair station that operates Sikorsky S-76/S-92 aircraft. The transaction (advised by Seabury Securities) expands Directional Aviation/OneSky’s vertical flight capabilities and adds charter, fractional and MRO services in the Northeastern United States; reports indicate the business was sold by Sikorsky/Lockheed Martin interests.

Ross Aviation Acquires Silverhawk Aviation's FBO and MRO in Lincoln, NE

Ross Aviation has acquired the fixed-base operator (FBO) and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) businesses of Silverhawk Aviation at Lincoln Airport (LNK) in Lincoln, Nebraska. The transaction expands Ross Aviation's geographic footprint in the U.S. Midwest and adds complementary MRO capabilities; Silverhawk's fractional, charter and aircraft management operations (retained by owners Mike Gerdes and John Geary) were not included in the sale.
