The add-on expands Turf Care's product portfolio, adds manufacturing capacity and establishes an enhanced presence in the south-central United States.

Platte River Equity Acquires Majority Stake in Turf Care Supply

Platte River Equity has made a majority investment in Turf Care Supply, LLC, partnering with the company's management team which rolled a significant equity stake. Turf Care, headquartered in Brunswick, Ohio, is a formulator and blender of coated nitrogen and other fertilizer products (including the Allied Nutrients division) and will work with Platte River to pursue organic growth and acquisition opportunities.

Blackford Capital, a lower middle market private equity firm, has acquired Carlsbad, California-based Artificial Turf Supply (ATS) and added it as the second company in its Patio Consolidation Portfolio. ATS founder David Barbera will remain president of ATS and join Blackford as an Operating Partner as the platform pursues consolidation and growth across residential, commercial, pet and athletic turf markets.

Spring Valley USA / Interoceanic Corporation Acquires Turf Care Supply Blending & Packaging Assets

Spring Valley USA, an affiliate of Interoceanic Corporation (IOC), acquired the blending and packaging assets and business of Turf Care Supply. The combined Spring Valley–Turf Care blending platform will operate eight manufacturing/blending facilities across seven states with roughly 250 employees, while Turf Care will be renamed Allied Nutrients and continue EEF manufacturing at its Martins Ferry, Ohio facility.

AgroLiquid Acquires Monty's Plant Food Company

AgroLiquid, a St. Johns, Michigan-based liquid fertilizer manufacturer, will acquire Louisville-based Monty's Plant Food Company effective Jan. 1, 2025. The deal combines AgroLiquid's liquid fertilizer technology and manufacturing scale with Monty's humic and soil-health expertise to broaden product capabilities and deliver new crop nutrition solutions while both brands continue to operate independently through the 2025 growing season.

Senske Family of Companies Acquires TurfPride

The acquisition expands SFC/Arbor-Nomics' Southeast footprint (adding a depot in Kennesaw, Georgia) and strengthens local lawn and tree care capabilities in the Atlanta area; SFC is PE-backed following an investment from GTCR.
