NOVA Infrastructure has invested in Austin-based Integrated Waste Solutions Group (IWSG) to build a vertically integrated waste platform. Concurrently, IWSG acquired the assets and operations of Central Texas Refuse (CTR) and entered an agreement with Green Group Holdings related to the 130 Environmental Park landfill project, with Green Group also taking an investment stake and board representation in IWSG.

Interstate Waste Services, a PE-backed waste-by-rail operator, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Oak Ridge Waste & Recycling, expanding IWS's collection, transfer and recycling footprint into Southwestern Connecticut and suburban New York. The deal (expected to close by end of Q1 2024) follows an equity recapitalization of IWS led by the Private Equity Group of Ares Management and Littlejohn & Co., and will add Oak Ridge's transfer, MRF and rail-served disposal capabilities and ~27,000 customer locations to IWS's platform.
