Platinum Equity Acquires Unical Aviation

Platinum Equity has completed the acquisition of Unical Aviation Inc. and certain affiliates (Unical MRO, Unical 145 and Unical Aero) from affiliates of the company's founders. Unical, headquartered in City of Industry, California, is a leading aftermarket supplier of aircraft parts and MRO services with more than 85 million parts in inventory and over 450 employees; Platinum Equity said it will invest to accelerate growth and enhance Unical's position in the global aerospace aftermarket.

Unical Aviation Acquires ecube Solutions from Baird Capital

The deal expands Unical's EMEA footprint and enhances its ability to offer end-to-end aftermarket and asset transition solutions to airlines, lessors and MRO customers.

Alpine 4 Technologies Acquires Vayu (U.S.), Inc.

Alpine 4 Technologies, Ltd. entered into a binding LOI to acquire Vayu (U.S.), Inc., a maker of hybrid VTOL autonomous aircraft, in a reverse triangular merger that will make Vayu a wholly owned subsidiary. The deal adds VTOL aircraft, autopilot software and expanded capabilities to Alpine 4's aerospace holdings (complementing Impossible Aerospace) and is intended to accelerate medical delivery, infrastructure inspection and other commercial UAV opportunities; Vayu CEO Daniel Pepper will remain in place.

DC Capital Partners Acquires uAvionix Corporation

Platinum Equity completed the acquisition of Ingram Micro Inc. from HNA Technology Co., Ltd. The buyout, announced July 2021, values the world’s largest technology distributor at $7.2 billion enterprise value and positions Platinum to accelerate Ingram Micro’s cloud, logistics and solutions strategies while providing financial and operating support for growth initiatives.
