Avolon has agreed to buy a $5 billion, 118-aircraft portfolio from Castlelake L.P., acquiring the fleet held in Castlelake Aviation Limited. The purchase, which Castlelake says will allow it to reinvest proceeds into new opportunities, is expected to close in Q1 2025 and will expand Avolon’s fleet and cashflow profile.

Macquarie AirFinance, with backing and equity from Macquarie Asset Management, PGGM Infrastructure Fund and Australian Retirement Trust (ART), will acquire a $US2.2 billion aircraft portfolio from ALAFCO Aviation Lease and Finance Company K.S.C.P. The deal — supported by a $US1.65 billion acquisition facility underwritten by BNP Paribas, Citibank, MUFG Bank and Natixis — will expand and modernize Macquarie AirFinance's fleet and improve its emissions profile; ALAFCO shareholders approved the transaction and completion was expected in 2023.

Latécoère Acquires Avcorp Industries Inc.

Latécoère has agreed to acquire all outstanding common shares of Avcorp Industries Inc. for approximately CAD$41 million, strengthening its Aerostructures business by adding wing sub-assemblies, large-scale composite capabilities and North American manufacturing footprint. The acquisition increases Latécoère's exposure to North American defence and commercial aircraft platforms (including the B737 Max and F-35) and is expected to close in 2022 subject to customary approvals.
