Brookfield Asset Management has completed a strategic partnership with Castlelake L.P., acquiring a 51% interest in Castlelake's fee-related earnings while Brookfield Wealth Solutions committed to invest in Castlelake's funds and strategies, bringing total committed capital to $1.5 billion. Castlelake will continue to operate independently, retaining its leadership and majority ownership of performance-related earnings. The transaction strengthens Brookfield's asset-based private credit capabilities and provides capital to scale Castlelake's platform.

Macquarie AirFinance Acquires $2.2B Aircraft Portfolio from ALAFCO

Macquarie AirFinance, with backing and equity from Macquarie Asset Management, PGGM Infrastructure Fund and Australian Retirement Trust (ART), will acquire a $US2.2 billion aircraft portfolio from ALAFCO Aviation Lease and Finance Company K.S.C.P. The deal — supported by a $US1.65 billion acquisition facility underwritten by BNP Paribas, Citibank, MUFG Bank and Natixis — will expand and modernize Macquarie AirFinance's fleet and improve its emissions profile; ALAFCO shareholders approved the transaction and completion was expected in 2023.

Latécoère Acquires Avcorp Industries Inc.

Latécoère has agreed to acquire all outstanding common shares of Avcorp Industries Inc. for approximately CAD$41 million, strengthening its Aerostructures business by adding wing sub-assemblies, large-scale composite capabilities and North American manufacturing footprint. The acquisition increases Latécoère's exposure to North American defence and commercial aircraft platforms (including the B737 Max and F-35) and is expected to close in 2022 subject to customary approvals.

Aquavista Acquires Castle Marinas

Aquavista, backed by mid-market private equity firm LDC, has acquired Castle Marinas, adding 11 marinas to Aquavista's portfolio to create a 29-marina group with over 5,000 berths across the UK. The deal was financed by LDC with debt facilities from Barings and strengthens Aquavista's position as a leading operator of residential and leisure moorings.

Carlyle Aviation Partners Acquires Fly Leasing Limited

An affiliate of Carlyle Aviation Partners completed the acquisition of Fly Leasing Limited for $17.05 per share, taking the company private. The transaction values Fly Leasing at approximately $520 million (with an enterprise value of roughly $2.36 billion) and adds 84 aircraft (on lease to 37 airlines) to Carlyle Aviation's managed portfolio.
