Hahn & Co acquired SK Shipping (the shipping arm of SK Group) in October 2018 in a deal worth about 1.5 trillion won that included purchase of debt and a capital injection, leaving Hahn & Co as the largest shareholder with a 71.43% stake while SK Holdings retained a minority stake. The private equity owner recapitalized and restructured the company, cut its debt burden, refocused on long-term contracts and environmental compliance, and helped SK Shipping return to profitability.

(through its 80%-owned unit Korean Air Catering & Duty Free Services Co.) has agreed to buy more than a 95% stake in South Korean meal-kit maker MyChef for about 75 billion won (~$61 million). The bolt-on deal — based on an enterprise value of roughly 100 billion won — is intended to boost Korean Air Catering’s procurement and product-development capabilities, scale MyChef’s automated production, and diversify MyChef’s customer base including inflight catering clients.
