Hahn & Co Acquires SK Shipping from SK Group

Hahn & Co acquired SK Shipping (the shipping arm of SK Group) in October 2018 in a deal worth about 1.5 trillion won that included purchase of debt and a capital injection, leaving Hahn & Co as the largest shareholder with a 71.43% stake while SK Holdings retained a minority stake. The private equity owner recapitalized and restructured the company, cut its debt burden, refocused on long-term contracts and environmental compliance, and helped SK Shipping return to profitability.

Hahn & Co. and Hana Financial Group Buy H-Line Shipping for 1.8 Trillion Won

South Korea’s private equity firm Hahn & Co. and Hana Financial Group have agreed to buy a 100% stake in H-Line Shipping for 1.8 trillion won (~$1.45bn). The deal is structured as a leveraged buyout via a project fund (about 45% financed with debt) and is intended to move the shipping company’s ownership to long-term investors while supporting consolidation and growth in Hahn & Co.’s shipping platform.

CJ CheilJedang Acquires Schwan's Company for $1.84B

CJ CheilJedang agreed to acquire U.S. frozen food maker Schwan's Company for $1.84 billion to establish a K‑Food expansion platform and scale its production, distribution and R&D footprint across North America. The deal excludes Schwan's Home Service division; financing includes approximately $1.34 billion from CJ funds and a $500 million loan backed by Schwan's Company, with 20% of shares from the major shareholder to be reinvested.

AUA-backed Gourmet Culinary Holdings Acquires Gourmet Foods

The deal is the third add-on for the Gourmet Culinary Holdings platform as AUA seeks to expand national footprint and product offerings while partnering with the existing management team.
