Pioneer Metal Finishing (Aterian-backed) Acquires Indianhead Plating

Pioneer Metal Finishing, a portfolio company of Aterian Investment Partners, has acquired Indianhead Plating, a chrome plating and metal finishing provider based in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. The add-on expands Pioneer's plating and cylindrical grinding capabilities across its North America footprint; John Altmann, the owner of Indianhead, sold the business and Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP advised Pioneer.

Pioneer Metal Finishing Acquires Electrochem Solutions

Pioneer Metal Finishing, a portfolio company of Aterian Investment Partners, has acquired Electrochem Solutions, a Union City, California-based metal finishing specialist founded in 1982. Electrochem provides precious metal plating and other technical finishing services (including gold and silver plating, anodizing, and electroless nickel) primarily to the semiconductor fabrication equipment end market; the deal expands Pioneer’s West Coast presence and technical capabilities as an add-on to its platform.

AOTCO Metal Finishing Acquires Plating for Electronics

AOTCO Metal Finishing has acquired Plating for Electronics, a Waltham, Massachusetts-based provider of anodizing, electroplating and laser marking services. Both companies will continue to operate in their current locations with existing management and employees retained; the deal expands AOTCO's certified capacity and adds PFE's anodize colors and laser marking capabilities to AOTCO's NADCAP-accredited facility.

Prince & Izant Acquires Peltier Mfg.

Prince & Izant, LLC (P&I), a Cleveland-based provider of engineered metal alloys and precision materials, acquired the assets of Peltier Mfg., Inc. on October 7, 2022. The add-on purchase—by P&I, which is PE-backed by Industrial Growth Partners (IGP)—expands P&I’s product portfolio and manufacturing capabilities in precision metal preforms and microstampings for aerospace, medical, electronics and other industrial end markets.

Kymera International Acquires Metallisation Ltd.

The add-on will expand Kymera's Surface Technologies division capabilities and strengthen its equipment, materials and application services offering for aerospace, medical and industrial customers across the UK and Europe.

Lutron Electronics Acquires Tanury Industries

Lutron Electronics has acquired Tanury Industries, a Rhode Island-based metal finishing and plating company that has supplied Lutron with metal faceplates for more than 25 years. The acquisition brings plating and coating capabilities in-house to support Lutron’s premium metal finishes and will keep Tanury operating in Lincoln, Rhode Island while expanding investment in its capabilities across end markets including automotive, aviation, marine, and luxury products.
