OpenText completed the acquisition of Carbonite, Inc., a provider of cloud-based data protection, backup, disaster recovery and endpoint security, for approximately $1.45 billion in cash. Carbonite becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of OpenText as part of a strategic move to expand OpenText's cloud and endpoint data protection capabilities and extend EIM to SMBs and prosumers.

Zix Corporation Acquires Erado

Zix Corporation has acquired Seattle-based Erado, a provider of unified archiving, supervision, eDiscovery and analytics, to expand Zix’s cloud-based archiving, compliance and messaging solutions—particularly for regulated financial services customers. Erado serves more than 18,000 customers and the acquisition is expected to add approximately $1.5 million in subscription revenue in 2018 while enabling broader compliance and multi-channel archiving capabilities for Zix’s customer base.

Zscaler Acquires SPLX to Expand AI Security Capabilities

Zscaler, Inc. has acquired AI security pioneer SPLX to extend the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange with AI asset discovery, automated red teaming, runtime guardrails, and governance across the AI lifecycle. The deal integrates SPLX's technology for discovery, risk assessment and remediation into Zscaler's cloud security platform to help enterprises secure models, agent workflows, and RAG pipelines from development through deployment.

8x8 Acquires Fuze for Approximately $250M

OpenText Acquires XMedius from StoneCalibre

OpenText Corporation has acquired XMedius, a Montreal-based provider of secure information exchange and unified communications solutions, from StoneCalibre for approximately $75 million in cash. XMedius, which generates roughly $40 million in annual revenue and operates on-premise and cloud communications products (including secure file exchange and digital fax), will be integrated to strengthen OpenText's secure information exchange, unified communications and cloud offerings.

OpenText Acquires Guidance Software

OpenText agreed to acquire Guidance Software, the maker of EnCase, in a cash tender offer valued at $7.10 per share (approximately $240 million equity value; ~$222 million enterprise value). The purchase expands OpenText's Discovery and information security capabilities by adding Guidance's digital investigation, forensic security and endpoint solutions; the deal was expected to close in Q3 2017.
