Highview Capital, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm, has acquired Randall Foods (also referred to as Randall Farms), a California-based provider of fresh poultry and value-added meat products, from the family of Stan Bloom. Highview plans to support growth by expanding geographic coverage and broadening Randall's fresh poultry and meat solutions.

Highview Capital acquired Gold Star Foods from Castle Harlan and will merge it with Highview portfolio company Good Source Solutions to form a new holding company, GS Foods Group. Alvarez & Marsal Capital Partners participated as a direct investor in the combined business; the combined company will create a national specialized foodservice distribution platform focused on K-12, corrections and other non-commercial segments.

GS Foods Group (Highview/A&M) Acquires School Lunch Products, Inc.

GS Foods Group, a specialized foodservice distributor owned by affiliates of Highview Capital and A&M Capital Partners, has acquired School Lunch Products, Inc., a K-12 school foodservice distributor based in Shafter, California. The deal will integrate SLP into GS Foods' national nutrition platform to expand logistics, product assortment and online offerings for school-district customers in California and beyond.

PAK Quality Foods Acquires H&R Foods (Vernon Transportation / AmTex H&R Foods)

PAK Quality Foods LLC, a portfolio company of Cross Rapids Capital, has acquired substantially all assets of Vernon Transportation LP and AmTex H&R Foods LLP, which operate as H&R Foods, a regional food distributor based in Amarillo, Texas. The deal expands PAK Quality Foods’ product and service offerings and broadens its customer footprint across Texas and neighboring states; H&R Foods’ leadership (John and Barry Vernon) will remain with the business.

Whetstone Distribution, a Shore Capital Partners‑backed platform of regional food distributors, has acquired Chicago-based meat purveyor Anmar Foods as an add-on to its distribution platform. The acquisition expands Whetstone’s product capabilities, channel penetration and Illinois footprint, adding Anmar’s meat processing and distribution capabilities to the platform.
